never been able to get a visa extension at Bangkok immigration in the 23 years I’ve been coming here

Always had to fly out and back in even with a multi entry non o visa

Don Muang is better if you need visa on arrival

well said , particularly in Thailand

@Pete ******
that’s how to do it

Although I do have a Will and Power of Attorney in UK which mentions a bequest to my Thai wife of 10 years

I would never buy a property any where out of UK

My wife owns the house and land we live in

@Gregory *******
yes but she can move all her family in to the house to make your life difficult to stay there after separation or divorce

thank you

Don’t mind the paperwork , Wife was an office manager in Thailand for a large coffee company , now retired

I’m aware that at Bangkok immigration we will have to ‘dot all the Is and cross all the Ts ‘

But as we live in Bangkok we can do as many visits as necessary

My issue with using an agent is that if you are not successful any fee is non refundable

Also I’m averse to leaving 400,000BHT in a Thai bank account at 1% when I can get 6%+ in UK bank

Where as if we DIY we can provide additional information, as required ,to qualify for Marriage Visa

I do understand all cases are slightly different

@Graham *****
yes had one for over 5 years married in Thailand with all registration and translations done

difficult to check anything

at Thai Embassy in UK as they don’t answer the phone or e mail just do Visa on line

I’m not in Thailand full time , have had multi entry visas to visit in the past , six months at a time every year

Thank you for reply

thank you

I will probably apply in UK as I’m not here full time, currently doing April -November in U K then November - April, also retired

I can provide proof of pension entitlement with Bank Statements and letters from Department of Work & Pensions as I under stand that UK Embassy in Thailand no longer do this service
