@Ruth ******
, the signed copies of everything in Thailand have always amused me at Visa time or any other Official paperwork submission

My wife always puts two diagonal lines and signs between the lines when she is asked for a copy of her ID card , Marriage Licence or any other identity , also makes me do the same

it sure is I’ve had notes refused with marks on them

So swapped them with cleaner ones

When I looked through the Thai notes I’d been given some where marked so I asked her to exchange them which she did, very, very reluctantly

This was in SuperRich Bangkok some years ago

ahh I see ,I’m not here permanently yet so this issue hasn’t happened to me

I’m not sure why you would bother with a Thai licence?

Just use an International Driving Permit

The original poster was doing it by land , so I gave him a heads up

The two times by air are up to the immigration officer and which airport you fly into in Thailand

That has been mine and others experience since I first visited in 2009

I’m now on a multi entry visa as I’m only here maximum of six months each year

Only allowed two per Calendar year ?

Maybe asked for proof of flight home also

I have been doing 6 months here 6 months UK since 2009

Been married 14 years and my Wife has been multiple times back to UK

on a 6 month visa with me, we do the paperwork together

The rules on income have changed this year for Foreigners to stay permanently , and on your income you will not qualify

In your case I think you should start again as you have been refused once

A good agent with good reviews is what you need , dealing through your wife is not a good idea as she may not understand fully what the requirements are

Best of Luck
