I might be wrong,

..but you did the right thing by dating your return date right before the end of your planned 30- day extinction.

That should be viewed as a positive by Thai immigration that you are not trying to manipulate the system and you are being very transparent.

BTW.. hang on to your previous boarding pass because immigration might ask to see it. 🇹🇭

Good planning mate. 🇹🇭

I would take a picture of passport and the entry stamp prior to handing it over to immigration. Especially if you're going to be out in public.

Is insurance required per that retirement plan?

Usage and over-usage of throw away airline tickets can possibly raise an immigration red flag.

I totally agree.

Suvarnabhumi is my favorite global airport. Very organized and becoming modernized.

It’s not a problem if you follow Thai immigration requirements.

Anticipate being asked for an onward or return airlines ticket.

Be prepared to provide evidence of where you will be lodging.

Stay updated per Thai immigration online entry documentation implementation as early as May 1st.

Obtain your sims card and baht prior to arrival if possible.

Don’t over explain your situation to immigration, just provide direct brief answers.

Don’t show attitude to immigration officials.

Above all, be courteous and polite and you will not have a problem.

🙏 🇹🇭.

Have you read about expats being asked for a return or onward ticket below?

All immigration agents have the discretion to ask for evidence of departing Thailand.

If a traveler reads your experience and decides to enter Thailand without evidence of departing, and they are asked for evidence of departing by an immigration agent, their excuse that ‘Mathew said I don't need departing evidence’

.. will not be accepted.

BTW.. I have talked to several other normal looking tourists who have been asked to show evidence of departing Thailand.

as side bar to the above:

Once the ETA is implemented, everybody will be required to list evidence of a return or onward ticket.

I would not depend on not being asked.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I have had to show a return ticket two times out of my last 5 entry’s.

Not a good idea to post an opinion as opposed to actual requirements.
