I used Swift to transfer a large amount from my Nationwide account in the UK. I use Wise to transfer smaller amounts.

for about £80 we didn't have to do anything except sign a few forms. So a couple of hours later we could do a Swift transfer to buy our home.

Do both spouses need to maintain 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank for a retirement visa?

Both have to have the 800,000 in your bank accounts.

After 15 months only my proof of 65,000 can be used as my wife's pensions don't meet that criteria so she will still have to have the 800,000 Bahts in her bank account.

We used an agent to open our Bangkok bank account in Pattaya, think it cost 1000 Bahts.

Will be using an agent to do our Non O retirement in January, just saves all the hassle.
