So, after 3 months you can lower your banked money to 400.000 THB. And another 9 months later, on the day after your new extension based on the income method, you can take all the money out (as long as the monthly 65.000 keeps flowing in)?

So I guess the only way to get back to the "trailing spouse" route, is to apply for a new visa in our home country. But this has other obstacles such as a mandatory insurance for a Non-O. We'll probably stick to this visa, but change the proof of finances next year to the 65.000/month method...

Yesterday, we went to CW for our extension of stay. The trailing spouse option was denied ☹️. The IO pointed to the mention of "retirement" on my wife's Non-O and said you cannot be "take care" on a retirement visa. So we had to go down the 800K route...

. It is just that I want to hear the refusal from the horse's mouth. A few years ago we started with a non-OA from outsite TH, and got the "trailing wife" solution for our extensions .I think it is weird to make a distiction between having a non-O in or out of the country. At least, I don't see the rational. Luckely my wife already has the 800.000.

I will be going to CW this week and try it out (non-O with financials for me and "trailing spouse"). We came in on a visa exempt, but the process should be the same.

Are the above rules, about the 800.000 and the 65.000 for an extension, the same for an incountry Non-O? I'm from one of the "embassy affidavit countries". Can I apply for a non-O at Chaeng Wattana with an affidavit attesting to a 65.000 THB income?
