I've been using Wise for a while now and recently loaded up a big chunk of money ahead of my upcoming trip to Thailand. It was super handy for pulling cash from ATMs without the hassle or risk of carrying loads of cash from home — no worries about losing it or theft.

Just found out in time (thankfully before I fly out) that under the new local licensing rules kicking in from May 2026, the Wise card issued through the Thai-regulated entity won't allow ATM withdrawals inside Thailand anymore. That's a real bummer and a big downside compared to before — I was relying on it for easy cash access.

I've got plenty of time to withdraw that lump sum now before heading over. Disappointing move by Wise, especially since it was one of the best low-fee options for travelers.

Has anyone tried TAGTHAi (or Thaitag/TAGTHAi Easy Pay) as an alternative? I've heard mixed things — some say the exchange rates aren't great or there are hidden fees. What's the real deal with this card for tourists? Does it let you withdraw cash from ATMs easily, or is it more focused on QR/PromptPay payments?
