I am talking about a full 12 months of income. I am currently on Retirement extension based on 800,000 tbt deposit (5 yrs now). Considering extension based on marriage. My Social Security has been direct deposited to Thai bank account for 5 yrs.

so proof of 40,000 tbt income through actual monthly deposits evidenced with bank statements and bank letter will not suffice? Only letter from Embasy?

That may well be the case but then going for a one year extension requires it be the Non Imm O-A. That is the situation I would try to avoid if possible.

True. I guess it depends on long term plans. But wouldn't Tourist Visa to 90 day Non Imm O inside Thialand take care of short term stay and if they decided to remain in Thailand then apply for One year Non O extension?
