Tom and I are talking about Bangkok Bank. But also Immigration as whatever the bank gives you Immigration needs to accept it. Otherwise it’s a waste of time.

same here. I had my passbook updated and latest bank statement. Chiang Mai Immigration accepted. But I do realize they tend to be the most lenient of the Immigration offices.

taxes would be an issue. SS benefits for Americans and some other government pensions for other countries are Thai tax exempt.
