your correct about the Philippines. Much easier process and they reward military people with easy access to long term retirement for about 1500 dollars. Just wish they had a better infrastructure. They seem to be kinder at immigration in actually trying to help. But thai women are more beautiful 555

I don't think thailand understands what retirement mean for farangs. Traveling and bouncing is a normal and expected part of being retired. And there is stated rule to have an annual lease for home base. Its just another show of abuse of power

I was getting ready to ask when it started sin e I did mine there 2 weeks ago. Thanks for informing people. It was crowed where it was before. I hope there is plenty of room now and workers. I was there for 6 hours last time. 250 people were ahead me. So frustrating

Its funny how bank don't want to open banks for people on proper visa and want people to hold amounts that most thais can't do. Recent article put out that banks are hurting financially because thai can't not make deposits because of huge debt ratio. Sure makes a lot since not to let farangs open bank accounts. Sure are a lot of genius making policies in thai.

it's a new policy. the bank issued a letter a couple weeks ago. They will freeze your money. They said clearly in the new letter. They didn't do it in the past bit thus is the future. I am sure they will lose a lot of business.
