For my retirement visa extension, I was asked to provide a list of all the places I've lived in the last 12 months along with lease agreements and evidence of rent payments. Is this normal procedure now or is it because I'm applying in a different province than last year. I bounced around temporary places quite a bit and this won't be easy.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about new requirements they've encountered for a retirement visa extension in Thailand, specifically needing to provide a list of all previous residences with supporting lease agreements and rent payment evidence. While some commenters express surprise at this requirement, others note that immigration prefers applicants to have a single long-term residence. Different immigration offices may have varying requirements, so experiences can differ among expats.

how about be more modern and actually have a national standard and take the corruption or abuse of power away and stop for ING people to have to use agent so they can get their kickback. Why not go by the rules posted by immigration official site.
it's no good asking me. Go and ask an Immigration Officer. Let us all know what the response was.

If people choose to retire in Thailand ,they have to accept the vagaries of Thai immigration rules .For Brits, the Philippines is a better option .Less red tape and entitled to receive any pension increases ,which are frozen in Thailand .
your correct about the Philippines. Much easier process and they reward military people with easy access to long term retirement for about 1500 dollars. Just wish they had a better infrastructure. They seem to be kinder at immigration in actually trying to help. But thai women are more beautiful 555
there are plenty of thai women speak English and thailand has a superior infrastructure compared to Philippines. I live both places and I will take thai
I find Filipina women beautiful but when you date one you date the while family an all the extended family. I don't have that problem in thailand but being said I know plenty of men married to thai and they do take care usually the parents.

What about all those TM30s and TM47s ?

You normally need to show you have a long term abode. Although it can be a hotel with a written agreement to stay there for an extended period

I've moved provinces a couple of times and not been asked for previous leases, but this is Thailand and different offices/officers can ask for different things, seems like you've been unlucky.

I don't think thailand understands what retirement mean for farangs. Traveling and bouncing is a normal and expected part of being retired. And there is stated rule to have an annual lease for home base. Its just another show of abuse of power
, having a home base is nothing abnormal. I would bet more than half the countries in the world would have the same requirement. You can move around, just register the move appropriately.
do you realise a new tm 30 for every hotel. It goes to computer on file. My last trip sent up a red flag even tho I filed my online to my home address. Over the years never been a problem. This time I had to go to immigration. But people like you must think its a perfect system 555. So many people closed minds in here. The way it works for you, you must think it works tje same fo everybody else. Geeze some people
I'm staying in Jomtien and I've been here many years. If I travel in Thailand,it doesn't matter how many hotels I stay at. When I do my 90-days reports,my TM30 in my passport is still valid and I'm back on track. I just need to return to the last reported address. Get it? I don't know where you're staying, but that's how it works here. So,the system works.
indis that exactly and first time it rejected me in 5 years. I know exactly how it works. Tod Daniels helped me out long time ago setting up my tm 30 online for my house that own. Never had an issue until this month. Don't tell me you are of those that think thailand has a perfect computer system 555
I care about the immigration office I belong to. Get it? I ve been here way longer than your 5 years and I've never had a problem. My old TM30 in my passport works just fine.
I don't think foreigners understand what requirements are required for retirement in Thailand. Foreigners somehow believe they're entitled to special treatment
how is entitlement when foreingers follow the rules but the immigration have absolutely power to change the rules on any given day. If you actually read peoples post on daily basis you would know that.
I read the comments most days, and most complain about items where they've failed to follow the guidelines. I've been here over 15 years, never had a problem. The rules haven't changed. I've always shown a 12-month lease as that's part of the criteria. I don't know what "travel and bounce" is, I'm constantly travelling. I probably spend a total of six months in the condo I'm renting. If your interpretation of travelling is to pack up all your belongings every time you have a trip, it must be hard work for you! I just take one suitcase
I take one suitcase and bounce from North to South. I have been here many years. And just recently I had My first rejection for online reporting even tho i registered residence which I have blue book and yellow and always come back to. I went to immigration and they had no reason for the rejection. There is consistency in this country. But not surprising. Now they are trying to get rid of their PM. Thais are never happy and always want to show a power trip to change the rules.
A 40% decrease in tourism is what more than a year of tax threats gets them. Not even mentioning the bank account situation, quarterly reporting and import taxes.
