There is actually no such thing as a retirement visa. It is extension of stay for 365 days based on retirement. The NON-O is 3 months visa prior to the yearly extension of stay, for the purpose of seeding the 0 baht for at least 2 months prior to the 1 year extension of stay.

I live in Thailand and get my S.S. direct deposit to a bank here. Every year in June I get the "I am alive" form. Got it 2 day

ago and will post it back today. Yes, it does get sent every year in my circumstance. Had a friend that forgot to send, and 6 months later, his S.S. was cut off.

Got mine today. Returning tomorrow by Thai Post, with tracking. Same every year!

Because it is a seriously great place to live. No overbearing big brother government, Thais are generally not caught up in political positions and probably lead a less intrusive lifestyle than Western countries. We were all born autonomus,(real freedom), then slowly, but then faster, we allow others to control us and dictate what is best for us.
