 you’re right; canadians are not on the lucky list like France 🇫🇷, UK 🇬🇧 and a few more.

Vietnam 🇻🇳 as know evisa or maybe possibility to get one on arrival but that would have to be verified.

 but if you go to their consulate in Laos 🇱🇦, Cambodia 🇰🇭 or Malaisia they used to don’t ask for your return ticket.
