Three times entry with VOA within 360 days is risky.

I entered two times via VOA in 2024 and one time in 2025. extended two times in 2024 so total 177days in Thailand in 2024.

In 2025 got flagged and could only enter the country because of my Thai girlfriend. First they didn’t want me let in the country. After the IO talked shortly with my girlfriend I was allowed to enter. But got a clear warning from the IO⚠️

I had the same issue.

On my third VOA I got flagged.

Was told to get proper Visa otherwise I will be send home.

Entry with DTV (workation) was then no issue anymore. Asked also the office if the flag in my record can be removed. He smiled and removed it without questioning.

1. showed proof of three months of income with end balance over 500k with screenshot of current currency exchange rate.

2. business portfolio stating remote work and some customer invoices.

3. motivation letter why I want the DTV.

4. paid business taxes as proof of company (in Germany)

5. copy of ID as proof of my permanent residency in Germany.

You only need the 500k and some kind of proof you have an income. The 500k don’t need to be in the bankaccount for all three months. Just ending balance should be above it.

Waited about 10 working days. Then approved

177 days 😅 3 entries + 2 extensions in 2024, 1 entry in 2025 (60 days, didn’t dare to extend ). They don’t like that… “get proper visa or we send you home, naa” she said on entry in 2025. Thai girlfriend bonus was the only reason they let me in the last time. First she didn’t want to let me into the country, told her I have a girlfriend, a lease contract and we live together. Then she was typing for 10 minutes something into my file, stamped me 60 days and told me that they won’t let me in again the next time. Get visa or wait 180 days. But I guess depends on the IO.

On third entry in 2024 they started questioning me on my purpose of stay. So I just pushed my luck to the limit 😂

Should be no problem. Had the same problem. Just entered today via DTV. Took 30sec and I could enter without problems. Was flagged for too many VOA usage and would be denied the entry. So don’t worry. Get dtv and you good to go.

From my own experiences if possible I would always choose a male immigrant officer 🙈

Applied on April 28th, also pending approval since May 2nd and no update. Due to holidays there is a delay and backlog.

Be patient. currently there are many holidays. we all have the same issue currently in Jakarta. we are all waiting. If additional documents are requested the clock resets, so it seems. Just wait. In worst case scenario extend your stay/stay permit in indonasia.

Monday is holiday too. So don't expect anything to here from them on Monday 😉

I am also waiting for my approval in Jakarta, staying in Bali.

Submitted on 24.04. Also asked for additional documents which were submitted on Friday.
