What I find so annoying is the guy/gal who jumps up, grabs their overhead bags and rushes forward as far as they can. Now, they are right next to my seat and I can't get up if I wanted to.

Not true. I fly a lot and I stand when the plane starts to unload. People always let me in line as we get off.

They could have stood up probably 30 minutes before the landing decent started. I fly back and forth between Washington and Thailand a few times a years and stand up plenty, but not on landing.
