I would like to get bank account too on DTV in Bangkok.
I learnt the following
Issue 1 - some banks require certificate of residence from immigration. This seems easy to get in Pattaya but difficult to get in Bangkok - even with 12 month Bangkok lease and TM30.
Issue 2 - even if you manage to find a bank to allow you to be a customer, they may force you to buy expensive health insurance
I’m told that using an agent in Pattaya solves both these issues, the account they get u, isn’t required to get the expensive insurance - so once you pay the agent costs it ends up around the same cost as if you did it yourself
Happy to hear from people that had different experiences, especially from Bangkok
My experience is if you apply for evisa online, the portal only accepts 1 document to upload for bank balance. So I just combined 2 proof of balance statements into 1 document and uploaded that. It was accepted. Applied via Australia.
It’s important to apply from wherever you are physically located at time of application. And ensure if it’s not your home country that the embassy actually will accept applications from visitors
they just asked for “remote working document” but the system didn’t list exactly what they wanted. I had already sent my work contract so I sent them my approval to work remotely. Quickly they asked again for “remote working document”. Again I didn’t know what they wanted exactly, so this time I sent CV, payslips, cover letter describing my remote work and a summary of all the work info I had submitted. After a few days it was approved.
