Hello, just received a text from my Thai bank requesting urgent information regarding CRS. I am not from the US and Ipay all my taxes in my home country. Do I need to do anything as it requests I contact them. Thanks
Edit Update: Thanks for all the replies. Just been to my bank and it was a genuine text I received. I had to take in my passport, bank book, tax number in my overseas country and proof of Thailand address. They filled in the forms which took 10 minutes in all. Good luck if you need to do this.
Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, never hurt to ask...about the 800,000 baht, does it has to be in one Thai bank account or can you have 3-4 Thai banks with smaller amounts? I guess a lot more paperwork for the immigration process?
Question. If I am to apply for a 1 yr pension visa based on monthly income of 65.000 tb can I spend that money?...is there a minimum that needs to stay on that Thai bank account on a regular basis?Thank you🙂
Question regarding opening bank here as a US citizen. I had to do the W9 form. The bank person said the US government will tax me based on the money I leave in the bank. I just wonder how does it all work. Will the tax be on the interest amount or the total balance amount?
Hi folks, I am on a retirement visa granted first time on 6.3.2019. I need to use half of the 800.000 baht deposit. Is it ok or not, since I had heard that there is a new rule which forces retirees to keep the money in the thai bank for 3 months after the retirement visa is granted. Thank you.
