@Matt ******
Yes, you can. I am going exactly that route starting next month. Have a non-O, will get a bank account in Bangkok, will then be touring a bit first, then go to the destination and get a local bank account, deposit money, extend two months and after that get the 1 year extension based on marriage.

I am starting with a bank account in Bangkok just to make sure. I expect banks in Bangkok to be more experienced in handling new accounts for farangs. So if I get trouble from banks in the province (Sakon Nakhon) I will have the account in Bangkok.

As far as I know, the two months extension of the non-O is only possible for those who have non-O based on being married to a Thai, e.g. it is not available for those on non-O based on retirement. Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong.

You’re dead wrong. Having studied law at university in my country (NL) I can assure you that every vehicle must be registered and there is definitely law enforcement. Funny man.

How does it feel to be trolling? Do you need to deal with frustration because the little girl next door gave you a beating? 🤣🤣🤣

Which European country is that? Why don’t you answer this repeatedly asked question?

, but assess the damage on the car and tell the owner he may praise the lord that I won’t sue him for the damages of the car.

Nonsense. We got married in Thailand. NoAffidavit required.

I had an excerpt from my civil registration in Netherlands, in English language, legalised by the Thai embassy.

Then we went to the Dutch embassy in Thai to get a “Fit for marriage” statement.

We legalised / stamped all documents at MRT in Khlong Toei.

My best guess is that the opening poster didn’t have a “Fit for Marriage” statement from his embassy.

… and make a fuzz? I have better things to do than teaching flight attendants.

I will be doing exactly this and book get an onward ticket the day before I leave. I already have a non-O visa, but I don’t want any hassle from the airlines.

There is no guarantee that the flight attendants at the departure airport know the rules of Thai visa and I just want peace of mind. To me, that is $16 well spent.
