Veep Lefeh nahh, was there in april 2021, thailand was open for tourism but with 10days quarantine and then went up in Chiang Mai where I was paying that price for a basic hotel room
Gotta admit i was almost the only foreigner i saw in my trip
Giorgio Ferroni my bad, checked the prices again wayyyyyy up since i was there, i went in the middle of the pandemic when hotel prices were close to zero because there wasnt anyone
Food cost is cheap by euro standart, similar/lilbit cheaper than Latin America, but about 40-80 bath a meal where i was, will go higer in restaurent or depending of area, check the conversion rate.
Hotels can be around 100-150bath/night for minimum but will go much higher if you looking for luxury
You won't get more authentic then where all the locals eat. You can pay 500฿ for a meal, but locals don't eat daily. Not saying it won't taste good, but the street food is really good as well. Ain't because you paying a fortune that it's better ;)
But i ain't complaining, good for you if spending makes you feel superior, locals enjoy having tourists paying overpriced stuff
