, I was approved for a Non-O based on family a couple of weeks ago. Los Angeles consulate was asking for $100,000 coverage. I knew I wanted travel insurance anyway so I submitted $20,000 coverage and was approved for the visa without issue. So what is written is not necessarily what they are looking for. I am sure I could have gotten the $10,000 that was still the Thailand Pass requirement at the time and still have been approved. I can’t say that you could bypass the insurance altogether on the visa application since I did submit with insurance, but they did approve at a much lower level than what was on the application. Just my experience.

My process was very smooth as well. A representative helped us find the correct hotel transport and we went straight to the hospital for testing. Arrived Suvarnabhumi around 11 pm and had results 8 am the next morning and free to go.
