I recently did same in Nong Bua lamphu and was told it is now a requirement to have a marriage certificate validated at the local government office on the day you apply the same as bank statements. This is new for me but not a great hassle.

That’s correct. If you are saying I should apply for 90 day based on being married before applying for one year I can go back and ask that question. Not a problem.

that’s what I got. By the 6 November my funds will be in the bank for two months and I will go back then. Really appreciate your advice. Thank you

Thanks Ellie, have just returned from Nong Bua immigration. They have given me 30 day tourist extension and said I can go back on 6 November to apply for 12 months based on marriage to Thai national. Easy process and very helpful staff. Thanks for your information.
