Hi todd, I’m a uk citizen planning to return to Thailand soon. I left in 2019 then got locked in due to covid. I plan to return and get married to my gf. Can I get an e tourist visa and then extend to married to Thai National in country. I had a bank account but I imagine it is closed now as I haven’t deposited in it. What’s the best (simplest) way to do it , and will I have enough time to get married and season bank account funds.?etc.
Thanks for any advice. I think the work you all do is of great importance. Best regards, russ.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a UK citizen, plans to return to Thailand to get married after being unable to return since 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions. They are inquiring about obtaining an e-tourist visa and whether it can be extended for marriage to a Thai national. A commenter suggests obtaining a single entry tourist visa from the Thai consulate in London online, which allows an initial stay of 60 days that can be extended for an additional 30 days for a fee. They also advise that the user should prepare necessary marriage documents promptly to ensure everything is completed within the timeframe.
There's far more people who do the work on this group than I do (y)
Get a single entry tourist visa from the thai consulate in London, using the online eVisa system, come here, get stamped in for 60 days, which you can extend for 30 more days for 1900baht once you're here.
Now whether you can get your act together, get the documents needed to get married from your embassy, get them translated, get them certified at the MFA, then get married in that amount of time is totally up to you 🙂
That's your best option that gives you the longest time so you can get everything sorted out, get the marriage registered and then start down the path to a "marriage visa"
what is the MFA? Didn’t realise I needed anything from the uk embassy if I get married in Thailand. This could be the difference between coming back or having to stay in the uk
