Get elite visa prior to the 15th of September after which it becomes way more expensive. While what others say about work permit is true, reality is that if you're working remotely once a while then you will be fine just like tons of others who are doing it. Just don't talk about it so that th expat Nazis don't give you shit and for extra layer of security use a VPN.

Don't worry, very unlikely they will ask about it. They might ask to show your accommodation reservation eg agoda or Airbnb. As to $, I would suggest carrying at at least 2k AUD so you can exchange it for THB and save on the Atm fees that add up pretty fast.

that's the thing, I am 48 and so waiting to 50 in my opinion is better than paying for elite, but if they were to change the retirement age to 55 then that would make me reconsider it.
