Definitely absolutely not. The DTV is five years. It's too early to say if it may be a "one-off" and that previous holders will not be able to apply for further DTVs.
The change to the tax laws will not affect most retirees. Many are protected by their individual DTAs. It's unlikely they'll even have to file tax returns as the income is not assessable income.
Bangkok Immigration will charge 1900 baht for a DTV extension. If your immigration charges differently, that's their prerogative, but somehow I think they'll be losing a lot of customers! 😂
But the divisional commander only has authority over his division. He may "go it alone" but it's unlikely others will follow suit if it means stepping outside the policy of the MFA
Just do a border bounce and get a new 12-month stamp. 90 days after that do a 90-day report, and the "missed" ones will be forgotten. I used to do that regularly with the OA
You're stating it as if it's a known fact. You really do believe that a 180 extension is the same price as a five year visa. Perhaps stop spreading misinformation, and it won't need to be continually corrected. If seems a lot of people are getting their noses out of joint over this new dream visa. Those who paid over the top for elite and LTR visas I can understand, but those on non-O are now seeing a much simpler and less costly alternative with so many advantages and already many are taking advantage of it
