Thanks Stuart. That looks to be the best bet. I appreciate your help. So just to be 100% clear, I could leave Thailand for say 6 months if I have a re entry permit and a 12 month extension on top of my non O visa based on marriage to a Thai national and not worry about 90 day reporting and I can waltz back in?

I'm really not sure how long things will take unfortunately. I'm working on worse case scenario and thinking may be 6 months. It's a trauma selling up, especially in autumn and winter. So I thought it best to ask for advice and options on here. So I can get a 12 month extension and re entry permit?

Thanks Stuart. So would I be right in thinking that the date of permitted to stay would be the next due 90 day reporting date or would that be the date my " marriage" visa would need to be renewed?

But surely he must have had the sense to apply for his renewal a couple of weeks before his previous ran out and not the very day it expired?

As it seems we both have fewer years in front of us than we've had behind us, it's time to maximise and appreciate where we are at in our lives both in terms of geography and peace of mind. Yay for us! 😂😂

Well done! Time for you time now in a beautiful part of the world. I would say lucky us, but you make your own luck.

Well done! Honestly, I've never looked back. What with the high cost of living in NZ, the poor wages and the number of stoners and those on P I had to work with, I sometimes wonder why I stuck it out for so long. I should have moved here earlier. Phuket is beautiful. I'm in a quiet part of Na Jomtien. 😁

I moved from the UK to NZ and stuck it for 13 years. At first, it knocked spots off the UK but then it got so incredibly expensive that I ended up moving to Thailand last year. I earned 1500 dollars a week knocking my pan out by working very long hours. 60% of my remaining wage after tax went on rent. After petrol, power, water and food, I was skint every week. No wonder people leave. Presumably they are all young too,
