I remember when I first started visiting Thailand and had no idea about Visas, I went to extend my 30 day visa exemption at Immigration and under the "Extend for ___ days" part, I wrote "60." and they crossed it out and changed it to 30. I was confused because I thought the Visa Exemption was my "Tourist Visa" at that time (doesn't every newbie?) and thought it was good for up to 90 days. But that's how I educated myself and applied for the proper tourist visa.
4 Tourist Visa per passport from Vientiane. Then renew your passport and the count resets. But its never a good idea to go back to back, switch it up .. be a genuine tourist... go to other countries in between and you can spend a day at the thai embassy getting a new visa there such as singapore, hong kong, penang, etc
Who was wrong? Embassy for putting the wrong enter by date on her Visa? Or did she wait more than 3 months to enter Thailand? You've got 3 months to activate the Visa and enter Thailand. The enter by date is valid for 3 months once you get it.
Clint Elliott There are certain requirements and documentation needed to deem you eligible in order to obtain a Non Immigration B visa. What exactly is yours based on? Unless you got yours illegally?
I'm not eligible for that because I'm not officially married yet with documentation from the amphur. thats my future plans it will be better when I don't travel as often, because I will only need to leave once per year, but since this past year I've been traveling every 90 days to other countries (Laos, Malaysia, Hong Kong) I just applied for the tourist visa before coming back, and recently got a new 52 page passport so I plan to go to Vientiane again next year when I need to renew my Visa
The first year I was here I entered only on Visa exemptions until I decided to stay long term after moving in with my Thai partner. Thats when I started to get Tourist visas for the 90 days and travel out of Thailand every 3 months. This is when I'll go to Vientiane, or Hong Kong, Singapore, and when I come back I'll have a new Visa. The officers can see my history everytime they look at my passport and see this and only asked me why I'm staying in Thailand which I explained my reason. They didn't get angry at me or say what I am doing is wrong. The main rule is employment prohibited. So as long as I'm not working and traveling, that's a good thing in their eyes.
Robert A. Piccus I never said I am working. 🤔 I am asking to confirm that it is illegal. I actually follow lots of people on social media, who claims to have spontaneously moved to Thailand, that are from US, and constantly posts photos of them with captions saying "working from my home office (hotel)", which has them being on a laptop. So I am assuming they receive income through Paypal or some other internet option and was asking because I'm curious if what they're doing is illegal. Don't assume and point fingers at me and accuse me of working illegally just because I asked the question. The only reason I am living in Thailand is because of my girlfriend. There's no point in me paying $15,000 for a Thai elite Visa when I will be eligible for a Non Imm Visa based on Marriage with a yearly extension. Also Thai Elite Visa is VIP treatment where they pick you up with a Limo and have your own Lounge at the airport. I don't need that. I'm a Tourist, based in Bangkok, because accomodation is $300 per month. where as US is $1,500 per month. I can spend all that extra money saved traveling every 3 months instead.
Is it considered illegally working if your business is online, but staying in Thailand on Tourist visa? How can you get a work permit if you just make your income on Paypal?
