How many SETV (single entry tourist visa) a person can do kinda in a row?

Has anyone got any trouble when crossing the Vientiane Thai border with the third (or more) tourist visa?

I have two already and am thinking about the third one but not sure if they will give it to me..

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats have successfully obtained multiple consecutive SETVs (Single Entry Tourist Visas) from Vientiane, though experiences vary. Some individuals report being granted up to 10 visas without issue, while others experienced denial after the third consecutive visa. There seems to be no official limit, but entering back-to-back can raise flags at immigration, especially if your passport shows numerous tourist visas. It is advised to vary your travel and possibly visit neighboring countries between visas to avoid complications.

I have seen the stamp before, and I really don't know about the people I met, I didn't see their passport, except a girl from China that did not have a red stamp. She had four back to back visa.

for a while they allowed chinese to get visas there but then all of a sudden they stopped issuing them to chinese..

@Hal***
, I would imagine that those people who were denied already had gotten a red warning stamp of too many tourist visas from a thai consulate already.

MANY people don't even know they got it because the consulate doesn't even tell you when you get the visa that they stamped you

This is what the warning stamps look like in your passport.

If you apply for a 3rd, you won't get rejected. I went for my 4th Tourist Visa at Vientiane, I got it, but with that stamp. But at that time I was a newbie so I didn't even know about it. So I didn't go back on that same passport, but since my passport was only 24 pages, and pretty much filled up with the stamps and visas from Laos/Thai the past 4 times, it was already time for me to apply for a new passport anyways, so I will go there again soon to apply for another Tourist Visa because it's 4 Visas Per passport.

@T**
ok got it, thank you!

it's the one with the red box around it.

The box is so you can see it, they don't put that on the warning stamp.

on you picture by warning stamp you mean the one of rectangular shape?

@An**
, Penang is not strict you just need proof of a hotel booking and proof of onward travel.

next time i'm thinking of penang, but heard its strict too

You won't be rejected but if all those visas are from Vientiane you'll most likely pull a warning stamp this time and then you're done using ANY of the thai consulates in Lao.

Why not go somewhere else for the visa this time?

ORIGINAL POSTER
yes, previous 2 were from Vientiene, and I'm thinking of going there again

The two last time I went to Vientiane I saw a lot of people that was denied a third or more back to back visa. Mostly Asian people, but I also talked with Americans, Dutch, French and German that was denied.

4 Tourist Visa per passport from Vientiane. Then renew your passport and the count resets. But its never a good idea to go back to back, switch it up .. be a genuine tourist... go to other countries in between and you can spend a day at the thai embassy getting a new visa there such as singapore, hong kong, penang, etc

There's no official limit. 3 should be fine. Try changing consulates, a 4th from vientiane my well result in a red ' no more' stamp. At some point with constant back to back TVs you maybe questioned at immigration, although the laos border crossings seem pretty user friendly.

I know people who are doing single entry tourist visa for over 8years constantly and somehow they are OK. Not sure how it works but possible (*cough *money *cough*).
Jason ******
as long as they see that you are still traveling to other countries every 90 days, and not just to Laos back to back every time. They're fine with it
