They usually add the transfer fee on top of the cost. I did once do a transfer of 65,000 and it ended up being 65,000.25 baht. So now I add extra to the 65k just in case the transaction takes off .25 or something wonky.

actually you can buy Thai baht within your Revolut account. Taking advantage of any peaks in exchange rates at anytime you want. When you use your Revolut debit card. It withdraws the baht first from your account.

A DTV doesn’t qualify you for bank account eligibility. It’s the DTV holders that have gotten them in trouble with the international banking system. Excessive money laundering from scam call centers and certain countries with international financial restrictions flowing in. The Thai banking system is under pressure from international regulators. KYC, know your customer, is international banking law.

set yourself up with a South Dakota residency. It’s easy. Spend 1 night and get a Personal Mailbox from one of a few companies doing this. Go to the DMV and get a drivers license. You will then be an official resident of South Dakota. No state income tax.

The mailbox company will let you know when you receive mail. Then you decide to open and scan, shred or have forwarded somewhere. $150 a year plus any added expenses over the monthly mail allowance.
