Thanks for this. Just one question if I may, how did you get on with the medical certificate? My GP for the last 40yrs will do it, but he won't sign the form & wants to issue his own. He also wants to do a full medical. I've explained that I do not need a full check up at the moment, but rather confirmation that I do not have the any of the specified prohibitive diseases. You only have to look at me to see that I do not have leprosy, elephantiasis a drug addiction or alcoholism, so just a chest x-ray for TB and a urinalysis for drugs & alcohol (don't drink anyway)!

Hi Graham. Yes I did but I do not need it. I am retired and have no intention of ever working again, so the OA will do me nicely. I also considered the Elite, but I'm struggling to justify the 1.5m baht 'membership' fee which is only for the initial 5 year period and what they do not tell you is that it is payable AGAIN each time you re-apply, so if I stay in Thailand for 20 years I will effectively be throwing away 6,000,000 baht or AUD285,000. I've easily got the money, but have neither the need nor desire to throw it away.
