As thaï embassies write on their websites, the Non-OA long stay visa is « the » right visa for those who plan to retire in Thailand. That said, there are other ways when you like to make it borderline. Up to you.

It’s time to accept now that, when you are lucky enough to come in The Kingdom, you come in with the right visa and you extend the proper way with the proper requirements.

the less expensive agreed insurance is the LMG plan 1 with deductible 200K. It doesn’t cover anything, but has been agreed.

There are two types of fixed deposit accounts:

- one is the withdrawal is possible at any time: this is accepted

- the second is a fixed account where the deposit is blocked several months (ie: 6 months). This one bears often a better interest but is not accepted.

that’ s for the first year only. Starting from the first extension, the insurance has to be purchased via Longstay thaï companies.

Best is to keep your deposit all the year long. They don’t like you use it, especially with a thaï wife extension. But, of course, up to you !
