What is the best way for a family on a DTV to do a border run from Hua Hin?

The border run to Ranong is the quickest. We used this agent in Hua Hin. We had a minivan with fruit and drinks, coffee stop, the border crossing and a nice lunch at a restaurant. Cost 5000 baht each. The kids (5,7) had great time
