In chiang mai they gave me 21 days to leave after cancelling which was quite generous!

You can just walk up,you don't need a car.i cycle up to the window. Never been more than 10 minutes

Can do it at central festival but I find the drive thru ar the airport immigration way quicker(can walk up as well,or even cycle up as I do)

I would imagine so if you have enough time on your visa. It took about 10 days to receive my passport back from the u.k. They kept me updated from start to finish.
