everyone's situation is different. For me, this was the easiest option as it let me go for a nice ride and I didnt have to go to an airport and waste even more money on return flights and all the $ that goes along with it. I've done the trips to surrounding countries before and this was just something I wanted to try, a land border crossing. It was easier and cheaper than any other run I have done in the past.

the whole process from the time I got off my bike in the Thai side parking lot to getting back on my bike and going back home was 30 minutes exactly. This included everything including the 3 IO's and 2 bus rides.

The 1 minute refers to the amount of time waiting for the bus after getting my entry and exit stamp on the Laos side.

It was a very efficient and quick process. Faster than I anticipated, but there were 0 people in line on either side each time I had to go to the IO. I was there about 10:30 in the morning.

i did notice there were multiple signs at thai IO window but I didnt take the time to read any of them. I can't say if this specific one was there or not, but it was just last week.

the officer at Laos immigration VOA window asked me how long is was going to stay in Laos. I said I was going directly back to Thailand and no intention of staying in Laos. She asked if i asked the Thai IO if that was ok and if i would have problems entering Thailand. I said i didnt ask because i have a multiple entry visa. She said ok and stamped me in and out at the same time and told me to go get on the bus back to Thailand. So I guess it wasnt even a minute.

I did a border run there last week on my DTV. The officer was very friendly and welcoming upon my return back in Thailand. I only stayed in Laos for about 1 minute. He didn't ask any questions or ask to see any documents. Stamped me in for another 180 days. He was a happy guy.
