I would say they want to see a return ticket within the six months of the visa validity. But how would you know when the validity ends, before they haven't issued the visa, as the visa validity starts on the day they issue the visa. . . . . And actually, they are not supposed to ask you for flights tickets, but only for the dates of your INTENDED flight to Thailand and you INTENDED departure from Thailand. Your "intentions" do not consist already booked tickets. But it is what it is, they want to see booked both ways tickets and you have to comply with what they ask for if you want that visa issued
There is a widespread controversy . . . .some Thai media insists that the government ordered the Army to keep the borders open. However, my girlfriend who lives close to the border, today told me that all border checkpoints remain closed - the Thai Army does not listen to what their government says. So I wouldn't put much trust into what the Bangkok Post or The Nation has published
as long as the Immigration officer at the border accepts your background history, you are good with visa-exempt entries. I know some oil riggers who are doing the same
proof of cash 20,000 THB (must be CASH, not credit cards), proof of onward travel within 60 days, and proof of booked accomodation for the first few nights
however it doesn't change a Jota from Brandon's correct advice: Avoid Poi Pet at any costs! Except if you use a "Visa Run Company". They can rest assure that your border run can be made on the same day. They will check your passport stamp history, and if they think that you will be rejected, they won't even let your board their Minivans
I guess you don't even have something which is called a "visa". You are on a stay permit, not on a visa. You most probably are on an "1-year extended stay permit based on being married to a Thai wife". You can apply for the next 1-year extension of the stay permit, from up to 30 days before your current extended stay permit expires (on some Immigration from up to 45 days). The Extension will be issued for 4 weeks"under consideration". Within this period, Immigration is going to visit you and your wife at home, and they will ask your neighbours to make sure that your marriage is for real
you can apply for the next "1-year Extension of the Stay Permit based on Retirement" from up to 30 days before your current 1-year extension will expire. That would be from 16th of June 2024 onward. You next 1-year retirement extension will be issued for another year, starting on July 16th.
