you just got scammed by a corrupt cop :( I actually used my IDP for 3 years :-) before I finally broke down and got my Thailand driver's license / motorcycle license I was stopped many times and ask for my license I showed my USA driver's license along with my IDP which was old and faded and torn. Never got fined
she had a complete dossier filled out mentioning that she would travel with me. As far as I know they didn't even get that far into the papers. She was 40 years old with two school-age children owned her own home owned her own car and had a mother and father that she helps take care of.

It's really not funny but even though I'm partially paralyzed. I personally am amused when I see a wheelchair ramp here in Chiang Mai. The steepness of the ramp is such that even Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn't push me up the ramp 555. No, Chiang Mai, and all of Southeast Asia is not wheelchair friendly
