what about changing your strategy instead of location? Bring cash into the country every 6-12 months instead. Dont force yourself into a digital currency prison cell.

Cross the border to say malaysia, take cash out over a couple of days, bring it in and no tax. Not ideal perhaps but think outside the box instead of running. A

legend! Thanks for sharing this info. Ive never had a problem either showing an unpaid booking.com confirmation at KL but after reading this ladies query, i got worried about my upcoming embassy visit too. Appreciate you sharing this info.

im very pedantic about following all the rules exactly so i dont have issues. I have a passport full of tourist visa and many of them from the KL embassy. Ive never had an issue with them. I have a visa run in a few weeks and had already printed off my booking.com booking confirmation for the application. But after reading your post, i will go check it. However this is the first time ive seen your question raised here which means its not a common issue people face. My gut instinct is that this requirement would be more for private landlord rentals etc. im pretty sure that booking and agoda are considered reputable the embassy and not excessively scrutinised. But i understand your caution and concern.

Have you presented the accom receipt and had it rejected because it didn't have the number on it? Or are you just trying to follow the rules exactly (as you should...).

Ive done a number of visa runs to KL and always provided booking.com bookings (unpaid) and never had any issues. Ive never checked that detail about the tax id number on my booking forms before. I dont know if it's new or they have just never taken it that seriously.
