It's not that hard to open an account at Bangkok Bank. It actually depends on location. Bangkok Bank branches in for example Pattaya or Jomtien are imo more foreigner friendly than most other banks.

Transfer money to Bank of Thailand? Thats the central bank in Thailand. Use Wise instead of bank to bank transfers. Better exchange rates.

Why would the Non-O be a hassle as long as you meet the requirements and have been able to open a bank account and transfer the 800k?

If it's not possible to open a bank account at the moment when on a DTV is not same as banks are closing older accounts. It's not the same thing. FYI, I've been around in Thailand since 1989,in Pattaya/Jomtien since 1994,and I know a helluva lot more about banks and bank accounts then you will ever know. You shouldn't spread false information here on FB.
