Bangkok Bank is the only bank in Thailand allowed to open up an account for someone on a TR visa… Each branch however, will charge you a different fee (insurance fee) to open in. In Ko Samui one bank wanted 7,000 baht to open, another one 3,000 and then finally found one for 2,000 (800 of it being a deposit into the account). Took about and hour and just needed some documents.
Just go to the Immigration Office new Maenam and bring 1,900 baht for the extension itself, and 200 baht for the passport photos and photo copies you will need to make. It's a pretty simple process.
If you’re here to spend time together there will be plenty open for you to enjoy. If you want to party like crazy then that won’t be at all like pre-covid times, but you can certainly still have a good time.
yeah you don’t have to report it as “making money”. You can be on a tourist visa and run a youtube channel//other passive income. As for easy visa runs, those won’t happen for a while, so probably apply for a 60 tourist visa befor coming, then you’ll be able to extend it once for 30 days and possibly more, if covid continues and the Thai government allows us to prolong our visas without having to leave the country.
Thanks for the info… Do you know if it’s possible to do 2 months visa + visa extension and then switching it to an ed visa… or if I would not be able to get the extension. Just tryna see how long I can extend my stay over there 🤔. Thanks!
