TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian individual is inquiring about the possibility of vlogging while traveling in Thailand on a tourist visa. Community members suggest that a 60-day tourist visa, which can be extended for an additional 30 days, would be suitable. There are current restrictions on border runs, and some users express frustrations regarding the saturation of vloggers in Thailand, emphasizing the need for unique content.

You need a unique angle to successfully vlog. What I did on my holidays is pretty well saturated.

yeah you don’t have to report it as “making money”. You can be on a tourist visa and run a youtube channel//other passive income. As for easy visa runs, those won’t happen for a while, so probably apply for a 60 tourist visa befor coming, then you’ll be able to extend it once for 30 days and possibly more, if covid continues and the Thai government allows us to prolong our visas without having to leave the country.

You can come on tourist visa, not supposed to work tho. Border runs not practical now

Not another vlogger for Christ's sake people are sick to death of them. Get a life and stick that camera where the sun don't shine.

Couldn't agree more. They all think they are the only ones who have visited Bangkok or Thailand. Pains in the arse, they are, cluttering up groups with their crap videos.

Thailand is saturated with shit vloggers they don’t need more
James *******
They are irritating as shit, people don't want to be put on youtube everywhere they go.

No border runs lol. Google helps.

You can get the STV for 9 months, but you cannot change to any other visa after. But saying that, by that time the border runs could start again. Who knows. Good luck mate.

There are no "border runs" at the moment, all land borders are still closed. Nong Khai seems to open on 24th., but no details are known yet. My guess is, that the "traditional" border run by land will not be possible for a long time, maybe never again.

I think it may be quite some time but would not be so pessimistic as to say never again. I only ever did one due to strange circumstances but it was funny.

No border runs at moment. As above, 60 day tourist visa and extend. What is your Vlogging strategy? There are so many out there and not much differentiation. Seen one you have seen them all.

OK. I had to change from Retirement to Non B. They would not cancel at airport. I had to pay at Jomtien. Got 7 days to leave. Did border run. Came back on 30 day visa exempt. Flew to Singapore and got 90 day Non B. Flew back and in 2 year BOI

just be aware that if you try to make, or concentrate on, making Thailand look bad, or do things you shouldn't, like climb on temples, new or old, the authorities will make it hard for you to stay. They have heavily fined, and jailed tourists if any nudity was involved. And, do not be fooled into thinking it is third world and they aren't tech savvy. They have a very first world criminal investigation division, and a computer crimes act that gets very intense in penalties. Good luck. Just be aware that Thai authorities do track all social media, and they are very good at it. Also be aware that you'll most likely be able to cross into Laos very soon, but you will still have to meet the same requirements you initially had to meet to get your Thai Pass to enter back into Thailand, and because of the Omicron variety of covid they are seriously considering going back to the 10 day quarantine requirement. It might be easy to enter Laos, but coming back into Thailand could be a headache.

I've been to Thailand many times, and fully aware of how it all works, never give anyone a bad wrap, and be very respectful to the royalty. And the king.

you'll have fun then, as there are a fraction of the tourists numbers. KhaoSan Road had almost 75 foreigners last Friday night...lolol. They require a vaccine certificate, or taking a quick covid test, at bt100, to enter in the evening now. A number of places are doing the same. They are going to try the same at all New Year's eve celebrations, with no walk-ins, only reservations, like the big one in front of Centralworld. We'll see how that works...lolol

Hope you give it a good go. Differentiate and it might just work. Good luck anyway.

You can do a 60 day tourist visa and then extend it for another 30 days once you’re here.
