I didn’t say anything about fixed calendar year rules! Exactly that though time spent, if you’re not trying to live there. Of course intention as you’re a tourist doh!
No rules as long as you’re a tourist and not staying in Thailand as your main home. Ypur obviously not as your going to Scotland for a long time. Don’t worry it’s aimed at people who are abusing the system. I kinda do d the same as you in the last 12 months. I arrived recently no questions asked you’ll be fine.
Same here my third visa exempt this year just arrived 2 hours ago! Normal queues for time of year. 15 min wait 20 tops. IO asked for nothing just stamped me in. I had return flight in 60 days and hotel accommodation booking but no questions happy days.
I’ve just arrived today immigration wasn’t overly busy took around 15 mins to get through so normal traffic for time of the year. I’m on my third visa exempt this year no issues at all. Like you I’ve stayed in my home country for over 3-4 months. I intend to stay a month do another country and come back. I think too much mis information out there as long as your not scamming the system and are a tourist no issues.
Why its immigration who make the rules. I don’t see anything concrete apart from people who abuse the system doing border runs. Who clearly are living in thai. Normal tourist should be fine as your not always staying to maximise your stays.
If you book one way what about the info on the TDAC as you surely have to put your leaving wishing the 60 days. As they ask for flight return number or onward travel details. Is this checked when you leave and come back.
