He got suckered into paying for a scam service in the same building to confuse people. They have no authority so they charge more and you have to wait until the NEXT DAY to pick up your passport.

while in the same building isn’t that a more expensive government approved middle man that adds money to the normal price? Like 2400 baht for a 30 day extension instead of 1900 baht down the hall? Plus you can’t pick up your pass until the next day..? Just wondering…

Same thing happened to us. We failed a departure to Japan to Los Angeles Covid test. MANDATORY 10 day lockdown at Pragam 9 hospital. We missed our flight. The hospital was unorganized and said they would contact immigration but they didn’t. We immediately went to the Airport to catch our new flight and lucky we had our Bill (300,000 baht) with us to explain our lateness, but still had to pay 6,000 baht cash (we didn’t ask about the card) for a 6 day overstay.
