Do I need to do anything before leaving Thailand with an expired tourist visa while holding a valid DTV visa?

I assume you mean you entered Thailand on a 60 day visa exempt stamp, then got the DTV a little while later. The DTV and the exempt are 2 different things and one does not cover for the over.

You should leave Thailand before the arrival stamp expires, then re-enter Thailand on the DTV (a print out is helpful to show immigration) to get a new stamp which will be 180 days.
