depends if you have a tax treaty. US taxes paid count towards Thai taxes, and in reverse. Always good to check as it can obviously save you quite a bit.

Heads up, while it doesn't say it explicitly, you are supposed to have the 500,000B available "per person". Lots of people have gotten by using the same 500k savings per applicant, but we decided to go another route because yanking more money out of my investments to "cover" 5 people just didn't sit right with us.

If you plan on using the visa extension, you have to prove funds again also. So better off doing a boarder run and getting a stamp in most cases. We just had a baby here in Jan and that's too much of a hoop for us atm lol.

yep, we just had a baby here in January and they offered us medical extension. Didnt end up needing it, but they were happy to offer it with a reasonable "treatment".
