it rarely have a checked bag nowadays and when I went through the queue for immigration was always the down into the passageway. Im on a Non O now but still even consider it in case immigration is busy.
in the north sea , for around 3 years using visa exempt. One of my trips in an IO commented on the amount of visa exempt entries I had made in recent years and suggested I should look at types of visas that more clearly fit my reason for travelling to Thailand but he stamped my passport as visa exempt and let me in. The next trip a different IO stopped me and asked for the address where is was staying and for proof of an exit flight from Thailand. I was able to provide this information and they stamped me in as visa exempt. My next visit to Thailand a different IO asked for the address I was staying at, proof of a return flight and to see my 20,000 baht in cash, I was able to provide everything he needed to see and was stamped in as visa exempt. After this I entered 1 more time as visa exempt using a safe entry though the group owners and after that applied for my Non O. I guess what I'm trying to say is you will be fine until your not, but from my experience once I was flagged I was checked more each entry and I assume eventually, sometime soon, I would've been refused entry under the visa exemption rule.
