what if after the first extension is done you go to another country for a week and then choose to go back to Thailand, are you allowed ?

So if my visa is 1 year in length. And I enter Thailand say December 10 , fly to another country or something January 4 and come back to Thailand January 10 I am still covered under the same insurance plan? (If that plan was 1 year or something) and don't have to purchase another one on re-entry ?
