So I already bought the PCR test or arrival for phuket before the changes they made, still waiting on my insurance. When I apply for the Thai pass do I need to buy the rapid test now ?? So confused
If I already bought the pcr test that should be fine right ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they need to purchase a rapid test after already having bought a PCR test for arrival in Phuket, particularly in light of recent changes that might still be in flux due to COVID-19 variants.
I'm in the same boat, have paid for a PCR, I guess will be hard to get a refund for the much cheaper ATK but as many have said here, wait, it's a moving target.

Wait...the changes may not happen due to new COVID variant.
it's obvious that your of low education background.
The world and by that i mean top scientists not idiots like you, are testing the new variant and are YET to determine whether the Omicron variant causes severe, moderate or mild infection.
The fact that you have determined all by yourself that it only causes mild infection all by yourself means yes you can arrive in Thailand with your PCR test in your hand and a bunch of flowers for your ladyboy lover and you will be waved straight through immigration without any complications.
finally you gave me the answer. Thank you. Even though you could of done it without your fear mongering.
And yeah the top scientists have found it to be mild so far FYI. No evidence to suggest it to be otherwise, more evidence at this point in time to suggest it's mild. That's my point.
its not been proven to be mild. Also, there are certain groups of people who become seriously ill or die even with what may be mild for you. Dont trivialise this.
again ...please wait and watch Richard Barrow updates
"The only certain thing about international travel is that there is no certainty. According to a source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the CCSA may follow the UK to reverse their decision to change the RT-PCR testing to ATK. We should get more information about this soon."
zzz just want a straight answer of what I would need to do should it go ahead. So it sounds like my PCR test will be fine then since I already bought it
your aware of the Omicron mutation Hongkong traveller case?
Was tested several times upon arrival via PCR test and kept showing negative.
It was only that he was in state mandatory quarantine that they found he was carrying omicron and only after numerous tests and on day 4!
Im glad your a medical professional and know for a fact omicron is only mild, but the rest of the world is still testing samples and meanwhile taking preventative steps.
Prepare for weekly entry changes without any notice includeing here in Thailand if it continues to spread quickly as it already is.
But maybe as you know its only mild they might let u in. 🤣
the scientists themselves who examined it in South Africa have said it's mild and your example doesn't show that it's not mild as well. So what is your point. 1 case means everyone of them is like that ? 🤣🤣
You have alot to learn mate.
Panicking over a virus that won't kill the majority. Time to move on with life mate.
i neither said it was or was not mild, if you learn to read i said its being tested by scientists and meanwhile the world is taking preventative steps.
Where is the 1 case?
There are far more cases than only 1, Canada, UK, Germany, Denmark, Israel, Belgium.....etc etc
Well i am living in thailand and i know how quickly the Thai's react to further outbreaks.
So carry on.....arrive during this new Omicron threat with your self test in your hand and lets see what happens 🤣
yeah and? My point is it's mild, whether there is cases there , over there or in your house doesn't change my point that it's mild. So your point is literally pointless and I don't even know why you bought it up except maybe you want everyone to cry with you or something. and I want to know what I should do with my situation should it go ahead ....
This isnt a question to discuss omarion if you wanna cry about the new variant I'm sure there is tons of other threads out there for you to pour your heart in. So please no pointless comments
