We travel on exempt tourist visas for 30 days. Leave & go visit another country or two then return to Thailand. And enter on another 30 day exemption. But we got scolded and chastised to “next time get a proper visa”. Not sure what we did wrong, but that officer was irritated and entered something in her computer. ? We don’t stay in Thailand longer than 2-3 months spread out over visiting other countries. In 6 years we’ve only requested a 30 day extension only once.
I had a crooked AirBnB “host” who didn’t give me a TM30. I needed an extension. I used a visa agent right next door to the IO in Jomtien. They sorted it all out. Very pleasant & efficient and cost 1,900 Baht on top of the 1,900 Baht cost of the 30 day extension. They made what could have been a stressful mess, very easy. Lots of private landlords are not fulfilling their obligation to give you a TM30😨
Been coming to Thailand on and off since 1974 after living there from 1968-70. I come back pretty much every year now and stay 4-6 months in Asia. I come in on Visa Exempt because we stay 30 days, leave and go to Malaysia, Bali and beyond for near a month in each. Contemplating retiring in Thailand if things get much crazier in the US😅 I feel very much at home in Thailand.
My BF was scolded for using a 30 day exemption twice😨. By AIR and after spending at least 2 weeks out of country. She scolded him to “next time get the right visa” and typed something into her computer.
