And now a shit hole. You and your fellow barflies can live in the past all you want. You are essentially irrelevant in today's geopolitical world with a few exceptions such as the LSE and a halfway decent military.
If you're staying in a place where for some reason a 30 is not filed for you, it's no problem. You will only need to get one done right before you actually go to immi.
If they go back on their implied intentions that existing members are able to upgrade at the currently set upgrade prices i.e. the price at the time of their membership activation, then they would be acting in bad faith and as such I would not upgrade. Philippines SRRV is cheaper and lifelong (i.e. a real permanent residency). We'll see what happens.
Get your ass to the Philippines. $10-20k will get you a permanent residency visa (SRRV) with no insurance requirement. Way nicer beaches, English is spoken by pretty much everyone, and it's still a tad cheaper than T. Drawbacks are Phil food not as good as T food (but Western food available everywhere), and the infrastructure is less developed. I like living here in T but Phils would be my close 2nd choice.
Ok but that's semantics, unless Meta is actually inexplicably allowing it. Hard to enforce of course, technically, if two parties keep it a secret between themselves. Which obviously didn't happen here since it's (the sale) being posted about publicly by the mods. Hence my confusion about Meta's official stance on the matter and/or the actual legalities involved as 3rd parties conducting a transaction on a product they are beneficiaries of at zero cost. I just find it hard to believe that Meta would let anyone make a dime off their product without at least getting a cut of the action.
