The conversation discusses the implications and opinions surrounding potential changes to membership upgrade prices for expatriates in Thailand. One commenter emphasizes that if upgrades are not offered at original prices, it would be viewed as acting in bad faith. Comparisons are drawn with the Philippines' cheaper and more permanent options for residency.

If they go back on their implied intentions that existing members are able to upgrade at the currently set upgrade prices i.e. the price at the time of their membership activation, then they would be acting in bad faith and as such I would not upgrade. Philippines SRRV is cheaper and lifelong (i.e. a real permanent residency). We'll see what happens.
, if you qualify, you can get Thai lifetime residency. If I remember, it only costs you around 100k THB... But other requirements including language skills make it very difficult to get.
