Nice to get some feedback. Hope you make a good choice

for sure but they can’t make that judgement call. If there used to be a child living with you ( or family) then they have to assume support is required. After all that’s one key reason why Thai women find a foreigner to provide some level of good financial support.

That’s an easy option out for them.

My girlfriend has a child so that was the reason we gave that she would return.

Go back and explain that it is normal to get to know your friends too but she has to return.

We now do 6 months in UK and 6 months in Thailand but I am retired now. Always found it is easier for you to visit the embassy next time you are here.

I see someone posted the UK government website link. These are your only options. There is a visa with the right to join family which includes spouse or partner. Think this is your best bet and if you have done at least 2 years of the longer term tourist visa should be easier

Same cost if you are 50 or 70 but as you say you may live to you are 100

Depends where you live and the life style you want. Her 1600 pounds is 2000 dollars and for a single person that is fair. I pay for 2, rent an apartment, run a truck and a scooter, live in BKK, support the family and travel. We do that on 3000 dollars a month plus the odd bigger spend.

I assume the 5 year tourist visa means she has a limit of 6 months per stay?

You want to move this to permanent living status in the UK?
Neil ********
Long term visa. Rental document or ownership document. Passport or Thai ID

Open the account with say 1000 baht.

Don’t get conned into opening insurance

I keep my UK accounts live and transfer. Use wise as already mentioned as the middle man and then transfer to Thai bank account.

Keeping money in a bank account is not very effective so just prove the monthly cash flow.
