Have you checked Wise or Revolut? We used them in Oman - very easy, everywhere welcomed and not too much cash in the pocket

some of the hotels check the luggage before you enter the room. so hide it in the suitcase, they probably will not open them -but never ever in a duty free plastic bag (i had my bottle in the suitcase .....)

absolutly ban of alcohol - it's forbidden in quarantine - you are lucky when you can smuggle in, but they will take it away from you when they find it
